Symposium on Exposome and Neurodegenerative Diseases

The Symposium on Exposome and Neurodegenerative Diseases will be held on the 29th and 30th of June 2026 at the CNRS campus in the “Amphithéatre Délégation Régionale”, Montpellier. The event will raise awareness of amyloid-related diseases and explore how science can address them.

Master’s students, PhD candidates, and scientists are invited to join this free and engaging scientific meeting, which offers a great opportunity to learn, exchange ideas, and connect.

The event is being co-organised by Celia Daba, a PhD student from Inserm involved in the ExpoSignalz project, and also features speakers from the ExpoSignalz team, Dr Marion Moramais and Project Coordinator Dr Veroniqe Pellier.

This event is sponsored by the ExposUM Institute, an initiative from the University of Montpellier that focuses on public health and the environment. The institute particularly focuses on the exposome, a generic term referring to all the factors to which individuals are exposed throughout their lifespan. In accordance with this philosophy, the symposium will bring together leading scientists to discuss the mechanisms, diagnosis, and treatment of amyloid-related diseases.

The symposium will address key questions, such as:

  • What are the latest strategies for the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases?
  • How do the factors we are exposed to in our daily lives influence the risk of developing neurodegenerative diseases?
  • How do social conditions shape this risk, and who is most vulnerable?
