University Of Cyprus

Cyprus, Partner

The University of Cyprus (UCY) joined the project as part of a ‘HOP-ON’ call in January 2026.

It is Cyprus’ leading research institution, and one of the most competitive universities among Europe’s widening countries.

UCY’s Translational Neuropharmacology Lab, known as the Zanos Lab, was established in mid-2022. The Lab will integrate behavioural neuroscience, ex vivo electrophysiology, as well as cutting-edge in vivo calcium imaging, and neuronal manipulation techniques to provide circuit-level analysis of cognitive-related processes.

UCY is bringing a dedicated laboratory to the project, with behavioural testing spaces, fiber photometry setup, stereotaxic surgical stations, an ex-vivo slice electrophysiology rig, and EEG recording systems.
