The University of Cyprus (UCY) is the country’s leading research institution, and one of the most competitive universities among Europe’s widening countries.
They joined the project as part of a ‘HOP-ON’ call in January 2026.
UCY’s Translational Neuropharmacology Lab, known as the Zanos Lab, was established in mid-2022. The Lab will integrate behavioural neuroscience, ex vivo electrophysiology, as well as cutting-edge in vivo calcium imaging, and neuronal manipulation techniques to provide circuit-level analysis of cognitive-related processes.
UCY is bringing a dedicated laboratory to the project, with behavioural testing spaces, fiber photometry setup, stereotaxic surgical stations, an ex-vivo slice electrophysiology rig, and EEG recording systems.
